Create and edit any type of transformation using standard SQL with an automatically maintained and documented dependency structure
unbroken dependency chain
XPERT BI EXTRACTION
The Xpert BI Transformation process is based on a philosophy of maintaining an unbroken dependency chain.
This means that all transformations in data flows are performed by using standard SQL, through SQL server management studio. It basically allows any type of transformation, be it views, tables, stored procedures or functions to be created, added and edited while automatically maintaining and documenting the dependency structure. This is possible through the feature used in Xpert BI called Inline Transformation Services (ITS).
HIGHLY PARALLELED DATA LOADS
Xpert BI ensures an unbroken dependency chain and still allows for complex transformations by using standard SQL views, SQL scripts and Stored Procedures. The dependency structure allows for a highly paralleled transformation ETL process that is adjusted automatically as a result of changes the structure. The unbroken dependency structure is also the foundation of end-to-end documentation.
The unbroken dependency chain allows for doing ‘what if’ analysis before making changes in objects in the data warehouse. It also makes it easy to troubleshoot if users reports “wrong data” in reports or requires documentation of where the numbers in the reports originate from. The documented end-to-end data lineage is dynamic and always up to date.
